Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 25, 2026
"Foundit" (also known in Korean as "어디뒀지", the "Service") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the information processed by the Service, the purposes of processing, retention and deletion methods, user rights, and the use of external services.
1. Basic Principles
The Service is a local-first app that can be used without account registration. Core data entered or created by the user, such as item information, item storage locations, categories, notes, photos, due dates, and lending information, is stored on the user's device by default. The Service operator does not upload or store this core item data on a separate server.
However, external services or external apps selected by the user may process related information while providing ads, analytics, crash diagnostics, OCR, update checks, feedback, backup, restore, sharing, widget, and notification features.
2. Information Processed and Purposes
To provide item management features, the Service may store the following information on the user's device:
- Item names, quantities, categories, and notes
- Item storage locations entered by the user and location history
- Photos taken or selected by the user and their internal app storage paths
- Creation dates, update dates, last viewed dates, opened dates, due dates, and notification settings
- Lending recipient names, lending dates, and related lending management information
- Favorites, seasonal tags, moving mode status, app settings, search history, statistics, and widget settings
- Backup data generated for backup and restore features
The Service processes this information to provide item registration, viewing, search, sorting, statistics, widgets, scheduled notifications, OCR suggestions, backup, restore, and sharing features.
3. Permissions Used
The Service may request the following permissions. Permissions can be changed at any time in the device settings.
- Camera: taking item photos
- Photo or media library: selecting and attaching item photos
- Notifications: displaying due date, lending, weekly report, seasonal, and contextual reminders
- File selection and sharing: selecting backup files, saving backups, and sharing items
- iOS tracking permission: measuring ad performance and determining whether personalized ads may be provided
4. External Services and Third-Party Processing
The Service may use the following external services or external apps selected by the user. Each service may process necessary information according to its own policy.
- Google AdMob: ad delivery and performance measurement
- Firebase Analytics: app usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash and diagnostic information collection
- Google ML Kit Text Recognition: text recognition for images selected or taken by the user
- GitHub Pages: app update information and guidance pages
- External apps: sharing selected by the user, saving backup files, and sending inquiry emails
These services may process advertising identifiers, device identifiers, app usage information, crash and diagnostic information, app and device information, IP address, or approximate region information based on IP address. Google's Privacy Policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Item information and photos entered by the user are not uploaded to a separate server operated by the Service. However, if the user saves a backup file to external storage, shares an item or backup file with another app, or sends an inquiry email, the relevant external app or service may process that information according to its own policy.
5. OCR Processing
The Service may use Google ML Kit Text Recognition to suggest item names or due date information from images selected or taken by the user. OCR is performed to provide app features, and the Service operator does not upload or store OCR images on a separate server.
6. Retention and Deletion
Data stored on the device is retained until the user deletes it. Users can delete item data, locations, categories, settings, statistical data, and images stored inside the app through [Settings > Delete All Data]. If the app is uninstalled, on-device data may be deleted according to operating system policies.
Backup files, data shared with external apps, inquiry emails, and data processed by external services such as Google, Firebase, or GitHub are retained and deleted according to each storage location or service provider's policy.
7. User Rights and Choices
Users can view, modify, and delete their data in the app. Requests for access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, or other inquiries regarding personal information may be submitted through the contact information below.
Due to the nature of the Service, most data is stored on the user's device, so using the in-app deletion feature is the most direct deletion method. Settings related to the camera, photos, notifications, tracking, and advertising identifiers can be changed in the device settings.
8. Tracking and Personalized Ads
The Service uses Google AdMob to provide ads and may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission on iOS. Even if the user denies tracking, the core features of the app can still be used, and non-personalized ads may be displayed.
9. Security Measures
The Service applies measures to protect user data, including on-device data encryption, storing encryption keys in secure storage, removing photo metadata during compression, encrypted backups, backup integrity validation, and file type, size, and path validation during backup restore.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not designed or provided primarily for children under the age of 14. If a child under the age of 14 uses the Service, we recommend that they do so under the guidance and consent of a legal guardian.
11. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, we will notify users by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
